The Magellan 1521 Golf Series

The 1521 Golf is based on Magellan’s prize winning 1521 Northern Hemisphere wristwatch design. The dial of this special model is produced using an actual golf ball.

A section with a diameter of 26 mm (just under one inch) is cut from a golf ball, hand-milled to exact size and mounted on a bronze support with feet to anchor it on the movement. A hole is drilled into the center of the dial in which a special set of tubes (milled to 5/1000th mm precision) are fitted on which the hands are mounted.

The specifications of the case and the sapphire crystal dome (to our knowledge the most expensive glass ever used in watch production) and mother of pearl chapter ring are similar to those of the 1521 NH Model. The “1521 Golf” comes in a stylish laquered presentation case with a two year limited factory warrantee.

The “1521 Golf Custom Edition” is similar to the model described above but in this case our watchmaker uses a golf ball provided by you*. In addition you can have a personal message engraved on the back plate.

(*Note: Not all golf balls are suitable. Your golf ball must have a solid core. Balls with wound rubber string core or using other loose material cannot be used)
